Meal and Snack Ideas

My family enjoys eating, especially when it’s something we make ourselves. It’s always satisfying to create a dish or meal at home instead of going out to eat. Here is food inspiration to help you in the kitchen when you aren’t sure what to eat! Listed is an array of mealtime and snack time ideas from different members of my family.

BANANA LOGS

This is a variation of a banana split. I saw the idea online with yogurt. This version has almond butter, honey, blueberries, chocolate chips and walnuts atop the banana. The topping variations are endless!

CHARCUTERIE BOARD

These trendy party platters are fun to make! Head to the grocery store and start grabbing cheeses, deli meats, crackers, fruits and other goodies like hummus, nut butters, jams, veggies or olives for a few ideas. Pick your board, line up the selections, and enjoy!

HOMEMADE STUFFING

A holiday staple, I think everyone should be making homemade stuffing. You just need some cubed and toasted bread, broth, sautéed veggies, an egg, mix it all together, bake and boom you have a delicious homemade stuffing. Don’t forget the seasoning!

APPLE CRISPS

This is an easy fun snack! Remove the core and slice up some apples. Generously sprinkle cinnamon on the apples, bake them and then eat them. Yummy!

SCRAMBLED EGGS

Enjoyable anytime of day, eggs scrambled up are delish. Add some veggies, sausage, bacon and or cheese and you have a meal.

INVERTED SUSHI

My little brother Petey served this dish up one night. It was really good! He fried the rice then put the salmon mix on top. Add the green onion and it makes for the perfect appetizer!

PANCAKES

Recently I made lemon ricotta pancakes to spice up the regular cakes. This particular dish below is sweet potato pancakes with ricotta in between. So good!

BLUEBERRY PIE

This blueberry pie was made by my Mom with the help of Daughter. Pies are great anytime of the year. Throw on some ice cream and the perfect dessert is ready!

LUIS’ FOOD

This section is dedicated to the food produced by my late brother Luis. With the most culinary experience, his crafty kitchen creations continue to be the inspiration we use to make delish meals and snacks at home.

COBB SALAD

This is a beautiful salad! There’s eggs, chicken, bacon, onions, avocado, lettuce and course cheese.

MIXED BERRY CAKE

Here’s a great breakfast, dessert or snack idea.

MONSTER WHEEL

This creation has chicken, bacon and cheese for the filling. The crust came from the premade rolls you can get at the store.
